Joe Iwakura

Joe Iwakura passed his first amateur radio exam when he was 14 years old. After college, he was employed by an electronics manufacturing firm and transferred to New York where he was licensed as N2AIR. After 11 years in US he returned to Tokyo, took a job in the financial industry and was transferred to Zurich where he operated as HB9LEY. During his stay in Switzerland he spent more than 100 days in Liechtenstein using the call HB0/HB9LEY. Since 1998, Joe has been quite active on the air in Japan especially with HF CW, having lots of fun with DX contesting and chasing DXCC entities. He is a member of the Tokyo 610 DX Group and CDXC.

Yutaka Sakurai

Yutaka Sakurai passed his first amateur radio exam when he was 13 years old. He is working for Cisco Systems at the Tokyo office. He activated T88YU from Palau in 2005 and 2007 together with his wife, Miho (JJ2VLY / JA1AJT / WS2M / M0IHO /T88LY), his elder son, Koki (JE1PGS / T88GS), and his younger son, Naoki (No Call). Yutaka and Miho joined the 9M4SDX, the DX-pedition from Spratly Islands (1S), in 2007. Since 2002 Yutaka has been quite active on the air from his weekend house at the south foot of Mt. Fuji especially for chasing DXCC entities. He is a member of the Tokyo 610 DX Group, Paper DXers and CDXC.
